Master
Design Furniture headquartered in California is a leading manufacturer
and marketer of wood dining room, occasional and bedroom furniture.
Master Design Furniture was founded by Master Home Furniture of
Taiwan in 1990 and was acquired by the Test
Rite Group in March 2002.
The
Test
Rite Group was founded in 1978 as a trading company
specialized in hand tools and hardware. Over the past decades,
the company has been growing along with its customers such as
Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Staples and many other big retailers in
the world. With a much diversified product line, Test Rite has
become the largest sourcing and buying agent for many of the leading
retailers in North America, Europe, Australia, Japan and Central
and South America. Today Test Rite offers more than 20,000 products
in hardware, housewares, automotive tools, lighting, fans, bathroom
accessories, indoor and outdoor furniture, BBQ set, computer accessories,
stationery, storage, luggage, and sporting goods. In the mid '90s,
Test Rite opened the first B&Q DIY (Do-It-Yourself) store
in Taiwan under a joint venture agreement with Kingfisher Plc.
of United Kingdom. Today B&Q is the largest and most popular
DIY store in Taiwan. There are 14 stores at the end of 2001 with
14 more to come by 2006. Test Rite has also opened other specialty
stores in Taiwan. Test Rite International was named one of the
200 best small companies in the world in 2001 by Forbes International
for its performance and great growth potential in the future.
Master Design, Inc. has assembly operations that make upholstered
cushion and wood chairs in California and Mississippi. There
are warehouses in these two places for distribution and service.
In addition, Master Design Furniture has a permanent showroom
located in High Point, North Carolina. The company hosts two
furniture shows per year in April and October. Every piece
of the newly designed furniture will be displayed and introduced
to customers from all over the world.
Master
Design Furniture has a strong and experienced workforce. Supported
by the expertise of Test Rite in sourcing and logistics and
is expected to grow substantially in the next few years.
